Procedural City Generator

A Houdini road network grown from a weighted vector field, implementing a SIGGRAPH 2008 paper in VEX.

Procedural City Generator

A vector field is derived from the terrain and weighted by a set of city centres, each with its own falloff, and the network follows the field, with primary, secondary and minor roads at their own widths.

It is a VEX implementation of Interactive Procedural Street Modeling (SIGGRAPH 2008), adapted into Houdini and taken as far as production-usable road meshes.
